Top Motorhome Hire – Terms and Conditions of Hire
Hirer refers to the individual or party hiring the vehicle from Top Motorhome Hire. The Vehicle pertains to the specific motorhome or campervan being hired, while the Excess Deposit is a pre-agreed sum set aside for potential damages or incidental charges during the hire period.
Eligibility & Driving
For safety and insurance purposes, only those drivers named in the proposal forms are permitted to drive the hired vehicles. Named drivers should be between the ages of 25 and 75. Those exceeding 75 must reach out to us for a confirmation. Additionally, drivers should be in sound health and must have maintained a valid driving licence for no less than two years.
Any licence with endorsements other than six points for speeding may require special conditions and must be produced before collecting the vehicle. Persons with serious convictions within the last eleven years, including drink driving offences, are not permitted to drive our hire vehicles. We recommend visitors from outside the EU to obtain an International licence.
Payments & Deposits
Before collecting the vehicle, a damage excess/security deposit of a minimum £500 is required preferably 4 weeks prior to hire, to ensure that all license and coverage requirements are met.
This deposit is fully refundable 14 days post the vehicle’s safe return on the predetermined date and time unless otherwise discussed with Top Motorhome Hire. However, should the vehicle be returned late, dirty, or damaged in any form, cleaning or repair costs will be deducted from the deposit at £50 per hour.
In the event of an insurance claim needing to be made, the total cost of excess is £1000, which we the hirer will invoice you for the remainder of the excess fee. Please find more information in the Insurance section below.
Should unforeseen circumstances such as accidents, theft, or extreme weather conditions render the initially booked Motorhome unavailable, we will strive to provide a replacement of similar size and specification. If this proves unattainable, we will promptly refund all monies paid within legal timeframse. However, we hold no obligation to compensate for pre-booked campsites, events, or other travel arrangements.
All our Motorhomes come with comprehensive insurance for the named drivers during the hire period, as detailed in the booking form. Up to two additional drivers can be added. In case of an insurance claim against a 3rd party, the full £500 may be taken to cover our insurance excess charges and any additional amount invoiced to you.
Any damage to the vehicle during the hire period not covered by the insurance will be deducted from the security deposit. It’s important to note that damages to tyres, the windscreen, and any theft of personal property are not covered by our insurance. We recommend the hirer to acquire personal belonging’s insurance.
Limitations & Liabilities
At Top Motorhome Hire, while we ensure our vehicles are in a reasonable condition, we do not assume responsibility for replacement vehicle costs, travel, accommodation, or other loss claims arising from a Motorhome malfunction or accident. The hirer assumes responsibility for any costs incurred from speeding or parking fines, congestion charges, or any other road traffic act regulations as this is factored into the deposit return timeframe.
Breakdown & Accidents
In the unfortunate event of a breakdown or accident, a recovery and repair service is available for all our motorhomes. You are authorized to spend up to £100 on any necessary repairs and/or replacement parts, for which we will reimburse you upon producing a valid VAT receipt. Repairs exceeding £100 require prior authorization from Top Motorhome Hire
